Your Mission

As a project manager, you will lead the work within one or more urban development projects. The projects are staffed with experts in planning, construction, traffic and mobility, as well as building permits, and you will coordinate the projects and be responsible for progress and goal fulfillment. You will be responsible for continuous anchoring and dialogue internally, as well as for establishing and following up on timelines, urban development qualities, and finances. You will represent Uppsala Municipality as a landowner by negotiating and reaching agreements during exploitation, purchases, and sales, as well as with consultants and partners. You will develop strategies and studies for climate-smart and attractive urban development in the various stages of the urban development process and share experiences and knowledge to contribute to collective learning. You will also represent the Urban Planning Department in the projects you lead and prepare materials for decision-making and discussions in political committees and boards for all aspects of urban development.

Your Background

We are looking for someone who has experience leading projects in urban development and exploitation or has specialized expertise in land and exploitation. You have a strong interest in urban development issues and preferably also sustainability issues. We would like you to have experience in financial management and follow-up of projects within the urban development sector and experience working in the public sector. As a foundation, you have an academic education in urban development, land surveying, or similar that is deemed relevant for the assignment.

As a person, you are curious and solution-oriented, as well as motivated to take responsibility for meeting agreed timelines and set goals. You are good at structuring, planning, and prioritizing your work. As a project manager, you have good leadership skills and can create conditions for a positive work environment while striving to develop your leadership within the projects. You have good communication skills and find it easy to understand and consider others' perspectives. You have an unpretentious approach, encourage collaboration, and monitor the environment to achieve the best results and collective learning within the department. Furthermore, you are a flexible person who has the ability to see opportunities in changes and can easily adapt to new conditions.
